Lawmakers Set to Study Sandhill Cranes News | July 26, 2024 | 0 | by Morgan McCarthy The Wisconsin legislature is looking at what to do with the state’s sandhill cranes. A new legislative study committee will meet next week to look at ways to control the sandhill crane population. The cranes have been a problem for farmers for years because they eat just-planted corn during their spring migration. Many states have a sandhill crane hunting season, but Wisconsin does not. The legislative study committee isn’t expected to have any suggestions until at least later next year.
