Alex McGough’s career with the Green Bay Packers has ended.
The Packers announced Friday they had waived McGough injured, meaning they will release him once he is recovered from an unspecified injury or reached an injury settlement. McGough came to the Packers in the summer of 2023 after winning most valuable player honors in the USFL with the Birmingham Stallions. He competed with Danny Etling for the No. 3 quarterback spot behind Jordan Love and rookie Sean Clifford.
From the field to the court, Milwaukee Bucks guard Andre Jackson Jr. is expected to be a full participant in training camp following surgical repair to a fracture in his left third finger on Friday. Jackson Jr. was injured in the team’s July 16th summer league game in Las Vegas. The surgery was performed by Dr. Randy Viola of the Steadman Clinic in Colorado. The 22-year-old Jackson Jr. was acquired in a draft night trade with Orlando last year and played in 57 games for the Bucks as a rookie, shooting 37 percent from behind the three-point line and averaging 2.2 point and 2 rebounds per game.
