A former northwestern Wisconsin police officer is headed to prison for a deadly drunk driving crash.
A judge yesterday sentenced Gregory Swanson to five years in prison, and another five years of parole for the deadly wreck back in July of 2022. Investigators say Swanson smashed into the back of an Eau Claire man’s car after he broke down along the side of the road in Superior. The man died immediately, his infant son died a few days later. Swanson pleaded guilty in the case back in April.
