Green Bay may be small, but the Packers aren’t poor.
The Packers yesterday said they turned a 60-million-dollar profit for the last year. While that is not a small amount of money, CEO Mark Murphy says net profits were down about 12-percent. Almost all of that drop, however, can be blamed on higher player salaries and the depreciation costs at Lambeau Field. The Packers got 402-million-dollars from the NFL’s revenue sharing agreement, and another 251-million from local revenues. Murphy says the team remains in a strong financial position.
