Residents of Manawa have been allowed to return to their homes after a levee was breached on Friday.
Mayor Mike Frazier says the Manawa dam did not fail, but that a levee beside the dam was breached by floodwaters, sending the Little Wolf River rushing down the streets of Manawa. Police had evacuated residents living downstream after they noticed the erosion taking place. The National Weather Service in Green Bay says over five inches of rain fell in about four hours in the Manawa area on Friday.
