WI Town Evacuated After Rain, Levee Break

A town in central Wisconsin is being evacuated after heavy rain caused floodwaters to burst through a levee.

Local officials say the Manawa Dam was breached Friday afternoon after the Little Wolf River began to overflow following hours of steady rain.  The National Weather Service in Green Bay says over five inches of rain fell in about four hours in the Manawa area.  Authorities started evacuating residents after emergency crews saw the ground was eroding around the dam.  At around 12:30, water began to flow over the dam and broke through a levee that was beside the dam.
