The Eau Claire Fire Department responded to a structure early Sunday evening on Ervin Road. Truck 8 arrived to find smoke and fire showing from a window on the first floor of a two story residential structure.
Crews made entry into the home and found one room of fire involvement, which was quickly knocked down and contained to that one room. At the same time, additional crews searched for victims and ventilated the structure of smoke.
Four people and a pet were able to escape prior to the fire departments arrival; they were later assisted by the Red Cross.
The Chippewa District Fire Department was also on scene as the property location was near the city’s border.
No injuries were reported.
