DWD Reports Millions in Fraud, Overpayment

More than 32-point-eight million dollars in overpayments were recovered in fraudulent unemployment claims in Wisconsin last year.

The state Department of Workforce Development says there were more than 23-hundred identity theft investigations, along with almost two-thousand worker misclassification tax audits. DWD Secretary Amy Pechacek says more than thirty programs have been launched or expanded in the past five years to help prevent unemployment insurance fraud.
