Court Action Begins on Act 10

The long-awaited push to rollback Act 10 begins today in a Dane County courtroom.

A judge in Madison will hear arguments from teachers as to why the nearly 14-year-old law should be struck down. Teachers unions in Wisconsin fought the law back in 2010, and challenged it several times since, but lost every case. The only thing that has changed is there is a new liberal-majority Supreme Court in Wisconsin. Act 10 changed how teachers unions in the state can negotiate their contracts. Supporters say it’s saved taxpayers billions of dollars over the years.
