Fewer federal student loan applications were turned in this year compared to last in Wisconsin.
The state Policy Forum says the FAFSA form was available in January of this year, when it was previously open in October. Technical problems were also reported while students and parents were filling out their forms. Madison College reported getting hundreds fewer applications than in previous years.
