A Rock County deputy who fired shots at a man who rammed into his squad car acted lawfully, according to the County D-A. A Beloit officer says a traffic stop was attempted and driver was identified as nineteen-year-old Ray Castro, who had outstanding warrants.
After a struggle with officers, Castro ran away on foot and allegedly stole an SUV. He led a police chase, which ended in him ramming into a squad car. Castro was deemed a threat to the public, and Roscoe Sergeant Robert Lewis shot and killed him.
