There’s some unhappiness in Altoona over the idea of paying more for water.
The city held a public meeting last night to hear from people about the proposed water rate hike from the city’s water utility. Some in the crowd said Altoona’s water is already more expensive than other local communities, and they say the city has been under water restrictions for the past several summers. Altoona says it needs to raise water rates to keep up with inflation, and to pay its people more.
