What a difference a month makes.
Forecasters say 80 percent of Wisconsin was in the middle of a drought in early April, now that’s down to just 20 percent of the state. April’s long soaking rains are getting the credit. The latest forecast from the U.S. Drought Monitor says a portion of the Northwoods, and a large piece of southwestern Wisconsin continue to be too dry. But many other parts of the state are actually seeing a bit too much water. Some local creeks and streams remain flooded.
