Wisconsin’s attorney general is once again arguing that there is nothing in state law that bans ballot drop boxes.
A-G Josh Kaul filed his case with the Wisconsin Supreme Court yesterday. He said drop boxes are technically not illegal, and therefore should be allowed. The new liberal-majority court is taking another look at the 2022 decision from the then-conservative-majority court that said there’s nothing in Wisconsin law that specifically allows for drop boxes, therefore they are illegal. Kaul said local election managers should have the flexibility to decide if they want to use drop boxes on their own.
