Sauk County is looking to pay some of the bills at its local UW campus.
The county board this week okayed 390 thousand-dollars for UW-Platteville Baraboo. It’s the smallest UW campus in the state, with just about 200 students, but county leaders say the university is an economic engine. County Board president Tim McCumber says the county is looking to support the school because it’s not breaking even on its own. No one is saying, though, just what the 390 thousand-dollars will be spent on, or how much it will help knock-down the campus’ deficit.
