Five people who worked at the prison in Waupun have either been fired or have quit in connection to the federal investigation into smuggling.
The Justice Department is not saying if any charges have been filed, but investigators say the case remains open. The feds started looking into the prison after Governor Evers asked for a formal investigation into the prison. Since the beginning of the investigation, 11 prison employees have been placed on leave. As of this week, just six remain on leave, the other five no longer work at the prison.
