Voters in Wisconsin mostly support their local schools’ requests for more money.
A new report from the Wisconsin Policy Forum says about 60 percent of local school tax increases in the state passed this year. There were 103 school referendum questions on the ballot in February and earlier this month, and the Policy Forum says 62 of them passed. The largest, of course, was the 252 million-dollar tax increase for Milwaukee schools. Voters narrowly approved that question last week.
