A bill that would have eliminated work permit requirements for 14- and 15- year-old Wisconsin workers is vetoed by the governor. Governor Tony Evers vetoed the bill today.
U-S Department of Labor Data says there was a more than 100-percent increase in minors employed in violation of labor laws from 2021 to 2023. Evers says the state had an all-time low number of unemployed workers last year, and there are other ways to make the workforce more competitive.
