A judge in Rock County wants a doctor to see if the suspect in the stabbing death of an eight-year-old girl is competent enough to stand trial.
The judge yesterday ordered a competency hearing for 20-year-old Dayveon Lathrop. He’s accused of stabbing his adopted sister to death, then hiding her body in a storage tote earlier this month. Lathrop’s attorney is the one who requested the exam. There’s no word when doctors will be able to see him, or just when Lathrop will be back in court.
