A lawsuit has been filed against a UW-Eau Claire chancellor for racial discrimination.
Olga Diaz, who served as Vice Chancellor of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Student Affairs from June 2021 until November 2022, filed the suit. She says Chancellor Jim Schmidt asked her to resign from her position for being a distraction and losing support of her team. Diaz says this happened after she supported Rochelle Hoffman, who also filed a suit against the university for racial discrimination. The University system denied Hoffman’s accusations.
