Today Rep. Jodi Emerson announces that she will run for re-election in the 91st Assembly district.
“I’m excited to launch this campaign today and continue my work for the people of the Chippewa Valley. The Chippewa Valley is home to me and representing the area in Madison is the honor of a lifetime. This district has changed quite a bit with redistricting and I’m really looking forward to getting to know folks in the new part of the district and reconnecting with people in the areas I have represented since first being elected.
“I take pride in working for the people of my district, not special interests or party leadership. One of my biggest successes of this past session was being a lead author on a package of housing bills that will invest $535 million to increase workforce and senior housing throughout our state. I worked closely with Republicans to help address one of the greatest needs in our state and look forward to continuing that bipartisan work in the coming years.”
Due to 2023 Wisconsin Act 94, the 91st Assembly district shifts east and will now cover the East Side Hill of Eau Claire, the North side of Eau Claire, the Oakwood Hills neighborhood in Eau Claire, the city of Altoona, and the villages of Augusta, Fall Creek, Fairchild and Cadott.
Emerson currently serves on the Housing and Real Estate committee, the Criminal Justice and Public Safety committee, as the ranking Democrat on the Colleges and Universities committee, as the ranking Democrat on the Rural Development committee, is the vice chair of the Speaker’s Task Force on Human Trafficking, serves on the Wisconsin Women’s Council, is a member of the Migrant Labor Task Force and also serves on the Transportation Projects Commission.
