Republicans at the Wisconsin Capitol are once again sending a multi-billion-dollar tax cut to Governor Evers’ desk.
The State Assembly yesterday approved a two-point-one billion-dollar tax cut package that would lower income taxes for families making under 150 thousand-dollars a year, would make retirement tax free for most people in the state, and expand both Wisconsin’s child care and marriage tax credit. Republican Majority Leader Tyler August said it’s a middle class tax cut. But, he’s also not confident that the governor will sign it. August said Governor Evers only seems to sign tax cuts during election years.
