A Glendale man is sentenced to life in prison for murdering his mother.
Aric Way’s mother was found dead by carbon monoxide poisoning in mid-July 2021 after she had recently agreed to sell her family’s farm. Way’s son, Philip Schmidt-Way, was set to inherit the farm when she died. Way was found guilty of purchasing substances that can create carbon monoxide when combined, and his son was seen at the home the night of the murder. Schmidt-Way will be sentenced for his part in the homicide on March fifth.
