Pricing Policies Could Affect Energy Bills

An energy company covering Wisconsin may be changing its pricing policies.

Xcel Energy, which serves Minnesota, Wisconsin, and several other states, is proposing time-of-use pricing.  It would increase prices in times of high demand — for example, running the air conditioning could cost seven-times more in the afternoon and evening hours compared to overnight. Xcel says customers would save with the new pricing, and the power grid be less strained.
