We recently received an update to a case from earlier this month in Taylor County as a Medford man is now in custody and facing homicide charges.
On January 14, 2023, the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office responded to Almost Home Again , a mental health , AODA treatment facility located at N3531 Elder Dr in the Town of Aurora , Taylor County. It was during that call that 61-year-old Joseph B. Bonney was found deceased at the facility. Taylor County Sheriff’s Office Detectives determined at the time it appeared Bonney was a victim of a homicide.
Autopsy results also indicated Bonney’s injuries were consistent with asphyxiation related to strangulation.
An in depth investigation by the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office has resulted in the arrest of 37 year old Cory C. Carlson of Medford Wi.
Carlson is currently being held at the Taylor County Jail; on a 200,000-dollar cash bond. He is facing charges of First-Degree Intentional Homicide, a class A Felony and Strangulation and Suffocation, a class H Felony
