An Eau Claire County man is headed to trial at the end of the month to determine if he was mentally ill at the time of a 2021 stabbing and standoff.
Adam Langiewicz of Boyd pleaded no contest on Wednesday to a charge of reckless injury against an elder victim. He is accused of entering his neighbor’s home, threatening to kill the man and his wife, and stabbing the man several times. Police say officers had a four-hour stand-off with Langiewicz before he was arrested. His five-day sanity trial is set to start on January 30.
