Three people are dead after police say they sped away from a traffic stop in Monona.
It happened about 9 o’clock last night. State investigators say officers tried to stop the driver near Nichols Road and Monona Drive, but he sped away. After a chase into Cottage Grove, officers used spike strips to try to stop the car. That’s when police say the car crashed. All three people inside died. No officers were hurt. No one is saying who the three in the car were, or why they sped away from the police.
