Road Test Returns News | December 27, 2023 | 0 | by Morgan McCarthy The road test waiver available to high school driver’s education students will be going away starting January 1. The waiver allowed 16- and 17- year old seeking a drivers license to waive a road test after completing driver’s education and 50 hours of supervised time behind the wheel. Starting in 2024, all drivers will have to schedule and pass their road tests before getting their license regardless of experience on the road. Data shows more than 144-thousand drivers waived their tests through August of this year, and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation says that hasn’t had a negative effect on driver safety.
