Gay and lesbian lawmakers in Wisconsin want to change the state constitution to recognize same sex marriage.
Same sex marriage in Wisconsin has been legal since 2014, but the state’s constitution, and some state laws continue to define marriage as between a man and a woman. The LGBTQ+ caucus in the legislature will introduce two plans today to change that. One would re-word the constitution, while the other would erase ‘man and a woman’ from state laws dealing with marriage.
