Grants to Study Train Expansion

Grants to Study Train Expansion

Five-hundred-thousand dollars in grants have been approved to study the expansion of Wisconsin’s train service.

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers says the money will be used for four studies, the first step to  getting environmental clearance to expand the train routes.  Evers says they’re looking to add stops in Madison and Eau Claire to the route between Milwaukee and the Twin Cities. Another would connect Milwaukee to Green Bay.

The Wisconsin grants are from the Federal Railroad Administration.
