DNR Reminds of Safety in Woods

News | November 23, 2023 | 0 | by Morgan McCarthy
DNR Reminds of Safety in Woods

Wisconsin’s deer hunting accidental total stands at two after the first weekend of gun season.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is reporting a pair of accidental shootings. One, in Forest County, saw a hunter shoot himself in the foot while trying to adjust his rifle sling. The other saw a hunter in Adams County shoot a woman in the stomach while she was walking her dog through the woods. She had to be flown to the local hospital. The DNR says all hunters in Wisconsin need to be careful during hunting season, and be sure they know what they are shooting at.
