Woman Mistakenly Shot While Walking Dog News | November 22, 2023 | 0 | by Morgan McCarthy A Central Wisconsin woman is in the hospital after being shot in the abdomen while walking her dog. The Department of Natural Resources says the hunter thought the dog was an antlerless deer and decided to shoot at it. The agency says the woman was shot on private property on the second day of gun-deer season in Big Flats Township. During a news conference, Mike Weber with the DNR recommends hunters wear fluorescent orange or pink while in the woods. He says non-hunters should also consider wearing bright colors during the gun-deer season while near hunting areas.
