A proposal giving more leeway to prosecutors seeking sexual assault charges has been resurrected.
Republican Senator Andre Jacque introduced the bill, extending the statute of limitations from ten years to 20. The lawmaker says the 20-year-limit has been enacted in other states and was approved in the Wisconsin Senate last year – but stalled in the Assembly.
