This morning brought multiple power outages in South Eau Claire and we now have more information about the incident.
According to the Xcel outage map, more than four-thousand customers were without power. Many businesses, including a Walmart and Target, also lost power. Eau Claire Police say traffic was congested, since multiple traffic lights were affected by the outages. They say an electrical substation fire caused the electrical snags.
