Underage tobacco and vape sales are rising in Wisconsin.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Service says underage sales of tobacco products increased from eleven-point-nine percent in 2022 to 13-point-six percent this year. On average, underage sales increased by 140-percent since 2019. The DHS says tobacco use causes almost eight-thousand deaths, 3-billion in health care expenses, and more than five-point-six billion in lost economic productivity every year.
