One of Milwaukee’s state senators wants a new warning system for missing children in the state.
Senator LaTonya Johnson yesterday said the state needs to create a system that catches cases that fall through the cracks of the AMBER Alert System. She says the disappearance and death of five-year-old Prince McCree is driving the idea. Johnson says police did not issue an AMBER Alert when he went missing because there was no suspect in the case, and there wasn’t a car to look for. She wants a system that pings cellphones and warns people to be on the lookout for missing children, even when there’s not a lot of information to go on.
