Sauk County is working on a large-scale expansion to the Great Sauk State Trail.
A proposed plan would see the path running another 28 miles to the northwest to link with the 400 State Trail near Reedsburg. An architecture and design company is working with county leaders, state departments, and the Ho-Chunk Nation during the layout process. Sauk County officials say they hope to have an official project draft ready to present to the public this coming spring.
