Unions and advocates turned out yesterday to oppose Wisconsin’s plan to change how the state draws its political map.
SEIU and Voces de la Frontera flooded the Wisconsin Capitol yesterday to demand that lawmakers not adopt a commission to handle redistricting. The two say the plan would continue to give Wisconsin a Republican-heavy map. They want the new liberal-majority Wisconsin Supreme Court to draw the map instead. The groups continue to say that people should pick their politicians, not the other way around.
