The plan to spend a half-billion dollars in taxpayer money on the Brewers’ ballpark could be a done deal by the end of the week.
The Wisconsin Senate is scheduled to vote on the funding package Wednesday. Lawmakers say they add a few things before the vote, including a likely tax on non-Brewer events at the ballpark. Governor Evers and leaders in Milwaukee are on-board with the plan. The Brewers are promising to stay in Milwaukee until 2050 if the deal is approved.
