Canine Officer Injured, Fundraiser Launched

The sheriff in Fond du Lac County is not saying how a police dog was wounded in a weekend shootout that left a suspect dead.

It happened about 6 a.m. Saturday morning after deputies got a call about a disturbance involving weapons. Deputies arrived and found a man inside a car, there was shooting, and the sheriff says the man was shot and killed. One of the sheriff’s office’s dogs, Iro, was also hurt and was rushed to the local vet for care. The Sheriff’s Office says it is putting together a fundraiser because people have reached out hoping to help Iro.
