Travis King is back in the United States. King, a Army soldier who ran across the border into North Korea back in July, landed in San Antonio yesterday.
He stepped off the plane, shook hands with people on the tarmac, and then was led to a building at an Air Force Base there. The Racine native made international headlines after the Pentagon said he darted across the Demilitarized Zone on July 8th. He spent the next two months in North Korean custody. King had just been released from a jail in South Korea, and was supposed to be flown back home to the United States where he could have faced additional military punishment. No one is saying when King will be back in Wisconsin.
