Areas of WI Remain in Drought News | September 16, 2023 | 0 | by Morgan McCarthy Some southern Wisconsin residents who set up a fire will need to get a permit. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says parts of Dane, Grant, and Iowa counties and all of Columbia, Marquette, Richland, and Sauk counties will need a burning permit. The DNR says it’s because of exceptional and prolonged drought in the state. The order will remain in effect until a significant rain or snow.
