WI DNR Looks to Alter Wolf Hunt News | September 12, 2023 | 0 | by Morgan McCarthy Wisconsin’s DNR is looking to change some of the rules for wolf hunters. The state’s new wolf management plan would require wolf hunters in Wisconsin to report their kills more quickly, and would limit the time hunters have to train their dogs for wolf hunts. The DNR also would require that hunters leave wolf dens alone. The changes are part of a new wolf management plan in Wisconsin that would reverse the state’s direction on its wolf population. The plan would also ban hunting until Wisconsin’s wolf population tops a-thousand wolves, and until a federal judge says hunting is allowed again.
