One For the Books

News | September 4, 2023 | 0 | by Morgan McCarthy
One For the Books

It was the hottest September 3rd on record in Eau Claire yesterday.

Forecasters say the city hit 100 degrees, hot enough to break the old record for heat, 98 degrees, set back in 1929. There are Heat Advisories for some folks in western Wisconsin, but not Eau Claire itself into tomorrow afternoon. Forecasters say it’ll be back in the 90s today, but Eau Claire will see highs in just the 60s by Wednesday because of a storm front that’s expected to bring thunderstorms to the area.

Students are also back heating up campus. It was a hot first day on campus for new UW-Eau Claire students. The university welcomed students back to the dorms on Saturday. Hundreds of freshmen lined-up to move into their dorm rooms.

The new Bluegolds will have a few days to get adjusted, the first day of classes isn’t until Wednesday.
