A new State Historical Museum will come with some changes for State Street. Madison’s Plan Commission last night approved the designs for a new museum, along with the demolition of two downtown buildings that are right next door.
A number of people turned out to oppose the demolition of the two buildings, but commissioners said the new museum must move forward. Work on the new museum will begin next year, and should be done by 2026.
