Quilt Stitched with Stories News | August 20, 2023 | 0 | by Morgan McCarthy A church congregation in the town of Marshall was reunited with a piece of its history after nearly a century. The descendants of a one-time pastor at the Marshall Methodist Church last year found a so-called ‘friendship quilt’ with over 900 names of people from the town and its surrounding areas. The Steen family presented the embroidered piece to the congregation on Saturday, 94 years to the day after it was presented to the former Reverend Roy Steen. The quilt will spend a week on display at the Marshall Community Library before it heads to the Marshall Area Historical Society for preservation.
