A former UW-Madison student with a history of sex crimes could spend the rest of his life behind bars in Minnesota.
A judge in Minneapolis yesterday ordered 27-year-old Alec Cook be held as a sexually dangerous person. That means he will be committed until he’s no longer a threat, if that ever happens. Cook pleaded down to a string of sexual assault cases in Madison back in 2018. Eleven women at UW-Madison accused him of crimes. Cook was sentenced to three years in the Dane County case.
