Wisconsin’s attorney general is asking a judge to unseal court documents from the Archdiocese of Milwaukee as part of his sexual abuse probe.
A-G Josh Kaul yesterday said the church has not volunteered the information, so now he wants to compel the archdiocese. Kaul is looking into past complaints of clergy sexual abuse, and said he wants to see the sealed bankruptcy documents to see if there are any unreported complaints. The Milwaukee archdiocese has said since the beginning that Kaul’s investigation targets only Catholic churches, and the archdiocese has not cooperated.
