It was carbon monoxide that killed a Madison-area Marine.
Investigators in North Carolina yesterday said a carbon monoxide leak killed Lance Corporal Tanner Kaltenberg and two other Marines. They were found dead in a car off-base on Sunday. No one is saying just where the carbon monoxide came from, or why the three didn’t escape. Kaltenberg was a graduate of Verona High School and had been on active duty since May 2021.
