A judge says the 11-year-old Milwaukee boy accused of killing his mom over a virtual reality headset is competent enough to stand trial.
The judge made the ruling despite a split opinion from the two psychologists who interviewed the boy. Milwaukee Police say the boy was 10 years old when took his mother’s gun and shot her in the head last fall after she refused to buy him a VR headset. Family members say the boy then ordered the headset after shooting his mother. It still remains to be seen if the boy will be tried in adult court, or in juvenile court. He remains behind bars on 50 thousand-dollars bond.
